The Mentor Factor: Women Helping Women Build Fulfilling Careers

The 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking is more than a ranking of the industry's most influential women. It is also a community focused on recognizing, developing and mentoring the thousands of women in banking and financial services who are tomorrow's industry leaders.

In 2007, U.S. Banker launched The Mentor Factor: Women Helping Women Build Fulfilling Careers, a series of regional leadership workshops and networking events. The full-day workshops included four sessions featuring KeyCorp's Beth Mooney, Wachovia's Ranjana Clark, U.S. Bancorp's Pamela Joseph, American Life Insurance Company's Joyce Phillips, JPMorgan Chase's Faith Massingale, Fifth Third Bank's Colleen Kvetko, Bank of New York Mellon's Karen Peetz and Mutual Community Savings Bank's Donna Sylver, among others. The aim: to empower women on the rise with lessons learned from the experiences of those in leadership positions.

In 2008, U.S. Banker continues its commitment to facilitating the professional development of women in financial services with The Mentor Factor. This year, the programs will be held June 11 at the Union League Club in New York; September 25 at Hotel Monaco in San Francisco; and October 1 at The Duke Mansion in Charlotte.

The three regional leadership workshops have one objective: Equipping women on the rise in financial services with the tools to succeed. They are aimed at women who are eager to gain advice on how to pursue their career ambitions, develop their professional skills, hone their negotiation tactics, and identify mentors who can provide invaluable guidance on taking risks and developing personal strengths that benefit their careers. The workshops also provide women with a forum to network with peers and leading women executives.
